#PitchYaGame Rules.

Tweet your elevator pitch when #PitchYaGame is LIVE on Twitter; and within 12 hours from the official start time depending on your time zone. Pitches may be honored up to an hour earlier or post official close.

  • GMT: 12PM – 12AM (MIDNIGHT)
  • EST: 5AM – 5PM
  • CST: 7AM – 7PM

PITCHING RULES

  1. When pitching, please only use the #PitchYaGame hashtag as part of your original pitch. The #PitchYaGame hashtag needs to be in the main pitch to count as an entry.
  2. You may pitch the same game once per qualifier round.
  1. Once you have made your main Twitter Elevator pitch you may post additional details in reply to your pitch, please don’t create duplicate pitches with differing information.
    1. Please keep the use of the #PitchYaGame hashtag to your main pitch tweet only.
  2. You are free to pitch as many games during qualifier rounds as long as you are either the creator or a member of the team that are developing / have developed the game.
  3. If pitching more than one game it is advised to leave a good time between pitches.
  4. Games pitched in previous rounds can be pitched again, but no game can ever win more than one award / prize (if applicable).

Pitch Content Rules:

  1. Pitches must not contain sensitive content, be sexist / racist / inappropriate / offensive or of a derogatory nature.
  2. Please do not use this as an opportunity to “spam” your game as many times as you can.
  3. Please do not duplicate your pitch(es).
  4. Pitches should contain hashtags that are relevant to the material.
  5. Pitches should contain minimal tags to other twitter users (and tags if used must be relevant to the project / game you are pitching – not for attention)
  6. Pitches should be “original” and not spam.
    1. Only “Original” pitches will be included in any official post #PitchYaGame content or entered into the awards.
    2. Quote RTs do not count as an original pitch.
    3. Replying to someone as a pitch is also not counted as an original pitch.
    4. To qualify your pitch MUST be tweeted on its own.

After pitching

  1. Please do not copy and paste the same pitch to reply to any threads that may pop up on the day – copy and paste the link to your pitch tweet if you are referencing it. DUPLICATE tweets will disqualify your pitch from consideration for entry into the awards!

Award Qualifier Rounds (typically held in June / November each year):

Judges and team members of #PitchYaGame may pitch, but are not eligible to win any awards / prizes (if applicable).

We reserve the right to exclude any tweet from any future #PitchYaGame promo / awards should we deem it does not adhere to or is in violation of the above rules.

We reserve the right to amend any or all of these rules, or to add / remove rules as we see fit.
